Cast of Characters

(1 female, 1 male)

KATE:  One of those anonymous women we often see on rush hour subways.  She could be any age.  She wears sneakers and keeps her shoes in her purse.

MAN (JOHN):  He just wants to do his job and get home, until he meets Kate.  Every attempt should be made to speak the language he uses as written.  He also could be any age.

Synopsis

On a deserted subway platform in January a working girl is accosted by a very unusual robber.  This is my most frequently requested one act play.  It works well for class work and competitions.

  Current Royalty Policy

One-Act Plays:
One-act plays can be used without payment for scene study classes and school competitions.  They can also be used without payment in production of one-act festivals as long as other playwrights, the actors and the directors are not being paid.  If any of these other groups will be paid then we’ll need to talk. Under all circumstances my name—Vanda—must be listed as author.

Full-length plays:
Scenes from full-length plays can be used without payment for scene study classes and school competitions.  We can talk about a no-payment policy for complete full-lengths if your company or organization will also not be paying actors and directors. If these other groups will be paid then the playwright must also be paid for her work.  Again, under all circumstances my name—Vanda—must be listed as author.

Thanks for taking the time to help me get to know you better!
